Scatter Shot Advertising

Advertising over a broad market is not the most effective way to promote a product, especially if that market clearly has little or no interest in what you are offering. If the goods you offer are not of general concern, in the sense that not everyone is your target consumer, you are better off limiting your ads to prospects who would be more interested in the product or service you offer.

Doing this not only allows you to minimize effort and prevent waste of time, it also helps you save money on advertising. Scatter shot advertising is like throwing several fishing hooks in the water, hoping that at least one fish would bite. Its alternative is like spear fishing, which is going for a specific target and getting the catch.
