Word of Mouth Marketing
The term “word-of-mouth marketing” has been around since the mid 1980’s. It was an Australian MLM company that is said to have originated this type of strategy. It consisted of passing of marketing information from person to person in order to promote a certain product. In the past, the transfer was by way of oral communication only. Today, it may include any type of human communication, like by email and text messaging.

Word of Mouth Marketing Strategy
Word-of-mouth marketing has been an effective strategy because of its supposed credibility, backed up by the testimony of the person endorsing the product. Research shows that people are more convinced by this kind of strategy than any other form of promotion method, as they believe the communicator is telling the truth and is unlikely to have an ulterior motive in promoting the product.
